FAQs

Why do the class?
This class will help you move better, feel better and perform better. This is a perfect class for motivated individuals who are seeking to learn how to train sustainably and decrease/mitigate preventable injuries. Our aim is to provide an honest and encouraging environment where class members learn to first embrace their limitations and then work on them bit by bit.

Who is this class for?
This class is for most levels. The pace of class will be similar to that of a power yoga class. You should be able to get up and down from the floor with relative ease. Please enquire if you aren’t sure and would like to ask if it is for you.

Is it a good class for athletes?
100%. Athletes benefit hugely from this type of training. While we all have strengths and weaknesses, this class will truly help you master your body at an entirely new level, regardless of athleticism. (Trust me!)

Do I need to do all the classes in the block?
Class spaces are first come, first serve. To ensure you have a space in the class, a block booking is encouraged.

There might be drop-in spaces available. Please send me a message if you aren’t sure what to do.

Do I need experience with Mobility and Strength Training or Kinstretch®
Nope. (Although it certainly doesn’t hurt).

Will I be coached during the session?
Yes - I will providing you with cues to enhance movement quality and decrease compensation strategies. Throughout the class I will be checking in on you and every class participant to make sure you get the most out of you training. My goal is to help you move better and have fun while doing so.

Do I need to bring anything?
You are encouraged to come with clothes you can move in (like a yoga class), other than that, yourself, a water bottle and a sweat towel if you like.

Will I be able to invite a friend to one of the classes like last time?
Yes! Each member of the class gets to bring a friend to class once each block. :)

Is there a place to change clothes?
It is encouraged to come wearing your workout attire, but if you do need to change, there is a WC on premises you can use to change into your kit if need be!

Can I do this training block concurrently with other training that I do? (Running, weightlifting, yoga…etc)
Yes - that is an ideal situation.

How this training with Athlete Always different from other types of classes or group training.
-Progress is the goal; This isn’t: a variety pack of exercises. This is: efficient, effective, informed, and goal-oriented. It's all about the basics.
-Technique is coached.
-There are clear progressions and regressions. (This is important).
-You will feel noticeably stronger and more movement-confident.
-There is a focus on joint health and longevity.
-Intelligent training vs. “No Pain. No Gain.” (You will still work hard though.)
-You will improve your technique and reverse compensatory patterns.
